Homeless Services Data
Through the Homeless Services Program, eligible individuals and families may receive case management to help them develop a housing plan and financial assistance to obtain and maintain housing. Clients may also be connected to local agencies, community resources, and/or benefits to meet their various needs and help improve their situation.
The homeless population in Ventura County rose steadily for several years before recent counts began showing a declining trend, though it remains above earlier levels. The Homeless Count, a point-in-time survey conducted each year in January, is an annual homeless census conducted countywide. Led by local groups in all 10 cities, the count is conducted in every community. Low housing vacancy rates and the lack of affordable housing limit housing options for individuals and families.
